When you rent linen, uniforms, towels or mats from us, most of the work happens where you cannot see it: in the truck, at the plant and on the inspection table. This page explains what happens to your items from the moment they leave your business until they come back, and what you can expect from us along the way.
Stamford Uniform & Linen is family-owned and has served restaurants, hotels, gyms and spas in New York City and Connecticut since 2010. Everything is processed at our own facility in Bridgeport, CT.
Step 1: We Learn How Your Business Runs
Every account starts with a conversation about your operation: how many covers you serve, how many staff you dress, how many towels you go through, how many doors you have. From that we set a par level for each item, which is the quantity you need on hand to get through the days between deliveries with a margin for busy shifts.
You receive a specific weekly quote, normally within 24 hours. There is no long-term contract.
Reach out now and one of our representatives will get back to you shortly.
Step 2: First Delivery
Your full starting inventory arrives in one delivery, across every category on your account. It comes with a count sheet so your team can check what arrived against what was ordered. If something is missing or is the wrong size or color, tell your driver or your account manager and it is corrected.
Step 3: The Weekly Route
On your delivery day, one driver collects the soiled items in every category and leaves clean replacements on the same visit. You do not have separate schedules for linen, uniforms, towels and mats, and you do not have separate invoices.
Because the route is fixed, you get to know your driver and your driver gets to know your building: where the linen is stored, which door to use, what time works for the kitchen.

Step 4: Sorting and Washing
At the Bridgeport plant, items are sorted by type and by how soiled they are, because a white tablecloth, a chef coat and an entrance mat do not belong in the same load.
Each load is washed in commercial equipment at water temperatures and detergent concentrations that home and light-commercial machines are not built to reach, generally 160°F or higher. That temperature is the threshold needed to reliably eliminate bacteria such as staph on high-touch items like towels and uniforms. You can read more on our commercial laundry service page.

Step 5: Inspection
Every item is checked before it goes back onto a truck. Anything with a stain that did not come out, a tear or visible wear is pulled and replaced. You are not charged for items we cannot return in usable condition.
This step is the one customers notice most, usually because of what does not happen: a guest does not get a napkin with a stain on it, and a cook does not get a coat with a missing button.
Step 6: Finishing and Packing
Table linen is pressed and folded, uniforms are finished and sorted, towels are folded and bundled, and mats are dried and rolled. Your order is then packed by account so the delivery matches your par levels.
Step 7: Adjusting as You Change
A restaurant in August is not the same restaurant in December. When you add staff, open a patio, book a run of private events or open a second location, your account manager changes your par levels and delivery counts. You do not need a new contract or a new setup.
